Our puppies are born and raised in the house. They are given lots of love and cuddles, together with plenty of time to roam and explore and play outside of their puppy day pen.  Our dogs come from generations of A Z animals, but first and foremost our dogs are our pets.

In 2013 we became aware of the availability of testing for DM and although not compulsory, we have made the decision to test all of our dogs.

From over 1,000 dogs tested in the USA for this disease the results shows close to 50% of the dogs tested are carriers or affected.

In Australia as at June 2014, 329 German Shepherds have been tested voluntarily with the following results are similar to the USA:

8.51% are AFFECTED
(More than 1 in every 12 animals tested have an Affected status!)

29.48% are CARRIERS

62.01% are Clear

This means more than one third of our breeding and show animals will potentially produce puppies that are affected by DM which is frightening when this can simply be avoided by testing and selecting a sire or dam that have a CLEAR status.

Examples:

CLEAR TO CLEAR = PROGENY CLEAR - NO PROGENY WILL SUFFER THIS DISEASE

CLEAR TO CARRIER = PROGENY % OF CLEAR & % OF CARRIERS - NO PROGENY WILL SUFFER THIS DISEASE

CLEAR TO AFFECTED = PROGENY 100%  OF CARRIERS - NO PROGENY WILL SUFFER THIS DISEASE 

CARRIER TO CARRIER = PROGENY % OF CLEAR, % OF CARRIERS & % OF AFFECTED - SOME PROGENY WILL SUFFER THIS DISEASE

AFFECTED TO CARRIER = PROGENY % OF CARRIERS & % OF AFFECTED - SOME PROGENY WILL SUFFER THIS DISEASE 

AFFECTED TO AFFECTED = PROGENY 100% WILL SUFFER THIS DISEASE

PROSPECTIVE PUPPY PURCHASERS ARE WELCOME TO MEET OUR EXPECTED MOTHERS PRIOR TO WHELPING BY APPOINTMENT

WE WILL ADVISE THE PROSPECTIVE PURCHASES ON OUR LIST OF THE ARRIVAL OF OUR BABIES.  AT THIS TIME WE WILL CONFIRM INTEREST IN THIS LITTER & AT 3 WEEKS WE REQUIRE A NON-REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT OF $500.00 

 

Our puppies are raised as part of the family, and are house reared, they are well socialised and interact with dogs and people of all ages making them very well adjusted for their next step in life - their new homes!

Each puppy leaves our home having been -
Microchipped, Wormed regularly, Vaccinated and started on a Heartworm program together with a puppy pack consisting of:

  • 5 Generation Pedigree
  • Photos of Parents and paperwork

  • Puppy Raising Notes
  • Diet Sheet
  • GSD Puppy Booklet
  • Bag of Puppy Food
